Hydro Splash BB Cream Review

I believe this is The Face Shop's latest BB Cream. It is call Hydro Splash and is not available in Australia yet. About a month ago, a very friendly SA actually presented the bottle for me and gave me a sample as well. She even said that if I wanted one she could get me one instantly.

Initially, I was very skeptical with The Face Shop BB Cream only because I have read many awful reviews with their other BB Cream.

I was caught by surprise with this one.

Upon initial application, this cream gave my face an unnatural finish and a somewhat white overcast. However, after half an hour or so, it blended into my skin and looked flawless as if I have nothing on.

The texture itself is like moouse. Very cooling and easy to blend. Best of all, this one is made out of water base (not oil) and contains 70% water. Consequently, it has fantastic oil control coverage. My T-zone was not oily 8 hours later.

While the finish isn't as dewy as other BB creams; I am happy to say that I can do without the dewiness. Especially for summer. I reckon this BB cream will do good as a summer BB cream.

Very sheer coverage, perfect for summer.

Definitely will purchase this.

^^ I just recently bought this from a local faceshop. The franchisee was a really nice lady who recomended it as it just arrived in melbourne a week or so ago. I find it very good as well compared to other BB creams, it's less heavy and summers coming up so I'm going to really enjoy using this. I was really debating with another one of their BB creams which was 'oil free' but when she applied it to my hand i found i liked this one better, because my skin is white and the other one's colour was a tad darker than my normal skin colour whereas this one fit nicely. :)

Hello Val..
Thanks for the review. I would like to whether it is good for Coverage and good for Autumn/Winter in Australia ?

I am planning to buy it now , it is new in Sydney Face shop.$ 28.00.

with 2 type , one is blue and one is pink( a bit shimmering with SPF 15)

Did you try the ETUDE HOUSE - MAGIC BB CREAM SPF 30 ++ before ?

:)

Hi Seri,

Unfortunately, I think this BB cream is too light for winter. I am all about radiant glowy skin and this BB cream won't be able to deliver that glow during cold dry winter months.

If you are looking for a BB cream to carry you throughout the year I strongly recommend Skinfood Mushroom BB cream. I love it. It is high on rotation in my tinted moisturizer list.

Hello Val,

Thank you for quick response.
My skin is sensitive dry on cheek, oil abit on T-Zone.
I have been into a counter in City, the shop assistant says Skin food BB CREAM Mushroom type will dry me up, so she recommend "Skin food BB CREAM Aloe ".
However, I have read plenty of reviews , most ladies with similar type like me , says the Aloe type will make some Pimples and too oily. That is one of the reason I am not really dare to try 'Skin Food' Products.:(

Hi Seri,

The skin is a very peculiar organ. I too have dry sensitive cheeks and oily T-zone (who doesn't really?). As long as you have appropriate skincare (good moisturizer, primer, etc) I don't see how the BB cream can dry your skin up.

Because by the end of the day, the BB cream should be sitting on top of your skin instead of acting as a moisturizer.

I myself take sales assistance words by a pinch of salt. I like to trial and error to find what suit my skin best. At best, most sales assistance can only "assume" and we are the only one who can tell what really suit us.

Ask for samples or check if your moisturizer is giving you proper moisturizer for your skin if you have drying problems. ;)

Hello Val,

Yes, you are right. I agree with you.
They only can do 'assumptions'.
I also come out for an idea for asking Samples. but maybe I will buy it ,I do not think they will give me for free.
:(
Thanks for all advise.
One thing ,forget to mention.
I love your display photo.
you look awesome. ~_^ V
